DAY 1

            Hey world, so the legendary fats kids club has finally just joined the wellness bandwagon.  As of today we started with the app called "simplec25k" which is a couch potato to 5k finisher program. The program last 9 whole weeks, and requires you to use the program at least 3 days a week. We have decided as a club, to use this app and train to ourselves. 
          Our goal is a 5K marathon on October 13, 2012. The Marathon will be held at Colts State Park in Bristol, RI at 10:30 AM. We hope by then that will have gained many supporters and followers to help cheer us on at the finish line after a long, hard run. 
          We began the work out with a 0.5 mile walk to our local high school to use their track. Once there, we turned the app on. The app would instruct us to walk for minute intervals, and then switch to jogging for minute intervals, switching between the two throughout the 30 minute duration of the program . You can jog and walk at your own pace. The point is to build up stamina, not speed, so do not push yourself further than you need to. A brisk walk, and a light jog will be just fine.
         There were a few moments i thought that i needed to quit but VP Linny kept cheering me on until i made it. Once done with our time we took a short rest under a tree to stop sweating and relax. Now remember we are chubby smokers this was not seasoned vets jogging for a mile, but baby cows! We then took the half a mile walk back home where we decided to start a blog to share with all of you. Thanks for reading and we will see you again on our next fitness day.
